Inspirations Youth Musical Theater Camps

Inspirations Theater Camps seek to help young people explore their gifts for theatrical expression. We do this through summer camps that feature theater games and exercises in a relaxed, inclusive, and intimate setting, culminating in the performance of a full-length original musical. Learn more...

This year's original musical: the princess and the pauper

Crafty Urchins, Pompous Ministers, and Bumbling but Lovable Ruffians come together in this fish-out-of-water tale based on Mark Twain's story. Two young people from royal and poor backgrounds switch places, then have a series of adventures as they adapt to their new environments—the princess trying to live in the slums, and the pauper attempting to avoid revealing herself as false to the colorful King Henry VIII.

This is amazing musical theater. Every aspect of these productions are high quality. The songs are wonderful—creative, tuneful and lively. The directing of the students is inspired. The original scripts are cohesive and clever. Director Torsti’s ability to work with any and all age groups is impressive. Above all, he can make putting on a musical in this way a joyous occasion for all the cast and crew.
